| regatta report - Victorian Urn 2004
October 30th & 31th - The UW Sailing Team sent 6 women on the 18 hour drive to the Victorian Urn Women's Regatta held at Harvard on October 30 and 31. The women missed the eventful Halloween activities in Madison, but were able to join the Red Sox celebrations in Boston. The sailors even had to come in off the water for an hour on Saturday to allow a parade of players pass by on the river. Situated on the Charles River, the women sailed both larks and FJs, in conditions ranging from 2 to 17 knots through out the weekend. The girls were challenged with shifty wind coming from the city, and huge puffs, but were able to pull out a 15th finish overall. Sailing in A's to a 13th place finish was Anne Porter/Anna Bargren, Kelsey Cramer, and in Bs with a 15th place finish was Liz Prange/Kelsey Cramer, and Patti Schmidt/Amy Schultz.
