Thanks to an earlier victory at Davis Cup in Iowa, Wisco had a berth to attend the Sugar Bowl at Tulane in New Orleans just before New Years. Quickly becoming a team tradition many of the younger members jumped at the chance. Also competing in the Women's Regatta, Wisco was represented on the co-ed side as well. Sailing A's, Aaron Mann skipped with crews Andy Muller and Missy Barry, while Scott Eisenhardt skipped B's crewed by Kelsey Cramer and Jake Fishman. Conditions were nothing like Lake Mendota. Arriving the first morning winds were up and waves were huge. Each day winds would be at their highest first thing in the morning only to diminish to nothing by late afternoon. The second day, the 31st, there wasn't even enough wind to sail in the afternoon. However, by the end of two days, two rotations were finished, allowed by short courses and on the water rotations. The co-ed team finished 8th overall among a challenging fleet with no freshman save both Wisco skippers. However, nearly every race both the A's and B's improved, leaving question what kind of results Wisco could have posted with a little more experience. Teams came from all over the country, from NYC to California. This was a true inter-sectional, many districts bring represented.
