Minnesota brought lots of wind and cold temperatures. The team-racing skippers were Skip Rather, Teresa Phillips, Jason Strutz, and Tim Shea. The crews were Bre Schmidt, Kari Sachs, Carolyn Soling, and Josie Burmister. Saturday had Lake Minnetoka filled with boats. Along with the Team-racing Regatta, there were two other sailing events in progress. The cold temperature and windy conditions took everyone's energy. However, a rotation and a half were finished. At the end of the day Minnesota 1 was in first followed close by Wisconsin. Sunday brought similar conditions, but only a half of a rotation needed to be finished. With the sun shining and waves splashing Wisconsin was able to finish with only three losses for a great 2nd place finish overall. Minnesota won the event for the third year in a row. |
