| regatta report - Singlehand Qualifiers 2004
October 9th & 10th - Wisco sent five sailors to the Singlehand Qualifiers held at Ohio State on October 9th and 10th. In Men’s, freshman Rob Pickens led the team with a fifth finish overall, ending the regatta on Sunday with 118 points. Sophomores Matt Schmidt, Aaron Mann, and Andy Muller followed, placing 8th, 10th, and 17th respectively. Finishing the regatta in first and second were Marquette’s Chad Recheysl and Minnesota’s Ben Burgum, qualifying them for the National Championships. Wisconsin had a great weekend in Women’s Singlehands, with senior Anne Porter placing 1st with an amazing score of only 23 points. In the 13 races held, she came in with 6 bullets! Porter qualified along with Michigan’s Christina Falcone, who came in second with 36 points, for Nationals. - Anna Bargren
