regatta report - fall fury 2002
The 2002 Fall Fury Intersectional
regatta began at 9:00 Saturday September 7th. It took place on Lake
Mendota at the Hoofers Sailing Club in Madison Wisconsin. The wind
was light and variable in the morning and after the first A race the
regatta was postponed. Around 12:30 the wind picked up enough to sail
and two sets were sailed in light and shifty breeze. Miami of Ohio
was disqualified from race 4B for violating rule 18.2(b).
The second day also began at 9:00 in light and shift breeze. Two more
sets were sailed until about 16:30. Minnesota was disqualified in
race 8A for violating rule 15.
Wisconsin took first with 34 points while Minnesota and Marquette
finished second and third with 49 and 54 points respectively. John
Porter and Chris Nie won A division with 17 points and Andy Graff
and Stacy Tillquist won B division with 17 points.
