| regatta report - Area West 2004
September 6th & 7th - The Area West Regatta was held at home on November 6-7. The Badger Football celebrated another win -- and so did Wisconsin sailors! Saturday's conditions were beautiful and unexpected for early November -- temperatures in the 60's. Breeze started out of the WNW and clocked to SW by the end of the afternoon. Breeze varied between 3-9 knots all day with shifty conditions. In A division, skipper Anne Porter sailed with crews Patti Schmidt and Missy Barry, and in B division, skipper Scott Eisenhardt sailed with crew Kelsey Cramer. Sunday's conditions were a bit chilly and much windier than Saturday's. Wind was out of the WNW at 15-20 knots with waves. Wisconsin sailors fared quite well in these conditions, however. Of the 8 races sailed Sunday, 7 were bullets! Sunday's sailors featured: in A division, skipper Matt Schmidt and crew Patti Schmidt, and in B division, skipper Aaron Mann and crew Liz Prange. Congratulations to the team on a big win which qualified them for the Timme Angsten Regatta over Thanksgiving.
