Donating Equipment to Wisconsin Hoofers

Wisconsin Hoofers welcomes and appreciates the donation of equipment, materials, and funds it can use. These donations can include anything useful and frequently include equipment used by many of the different clubs such as, sailboats, motorboats, kayaks, riding tack, horses, and general items that can be used by all clubs collectively, such as computer equipment, maintenance/shop equipment, books, office equipment, and more.

Benefits of Donation include

• Possible tax benefits as allowed by law, for donating to a 501(c)(3) organization. (Please consult your tax advisor for details.)
• Allowing valuable equipment that is not frequently used to benefit Hoofers.

Donation Steps

If you wish to donate to Hoofers, here is a guideline to the process.

You should:

• Consult with your accountant to discuss specific donation benefits to you.
• Contact Hoofers to see if the equipment is desired by a Hoofers club.
• Get an appraisor to determine donation value of equipment (if you plan to claim tax benefits).
• Complete and send Hoofers a donation letter (example).

Hoofers will then:

• Vote to officially accept equipment.
• Outdoor Programs Office will send you an official letter of acceptance.

• Horses suitable for lessons for adults beginners or advanced riders
• Horse tack
• Pick-up truck
• Farm Equipment
• Sailboats and Sails
• Windsurfing Equipment
• Canoes, kayaks, paddles, and related equipment
• Modern computers/laptops, printers, scanners
• and much more!
